Kadhalikathey
Singers: Hiphop Tamizha, Kaushik Krish
Lyrics: Hiphop Tamizha

Kadhalikathey to start with was the first single that was released months ago. It is a typical electronic based number that is high on EDM. There are some attractive beats throughout and the lyrics are funky and would appeal to the masses. This could be the next hit number among the single boys, thanks to the lyrics and the high tempo along with beats. The loop is interesting and the use of Nadhaswarams in between the electronic music could be the major plus of this number.

Vilambara Idaiveli
Singers: Christopher Stanley, Sudharshan Ashok, Srinisha Jayaseelan, Hiphop Tamizha
Lyrics: Kabilan Vairamuthu

Vilambara Idaiveli is the ‘Oxygen’ style number of this album. Sung by Christopher, Sudharshan, Srinisha, and Hiphop himself, it has a blend of Carnatic tunes and western beats. Drums and guitars take the centre stage and the song has an attractive title tune. A good melody based fun and peppy track woven by Hiphop Tamizha that has a good tempo as well. Ghatams have also been used here and there and these add a different dimension to the latter half of the track. Hiphop Tamizha’s voice tops this song and it ends well wanting you to listen to it again.

Neeyum Naanum Anbe
Singers: Raghu Dixit, Sathyaprakash D, Jithin Raj
Lyrics: Kabilan

Another melodious track in the form of Neeyum Naanum Anbe. This time a little more soulful to start with and there is always the western-based electronic beats along with the guitars to take it forward. There is a good use of violins and a persisting flute as well. On the whole a slightly different attempt from the composer for Imaikkaa Nodigal.

Kadhal Oru Aagayam
Singers: Teejay, Al Rufian
Lyrics: Mohanrajan

An out and out melody that has minimal use of both electronic music and instruments. Basic instruments like guitars and a slow drum beat along with a short portion of violins are all that this track has. Sung pretty decent by the singer, Kadhal Oru Aagayam is a decent listen for melody lovers.

Lions vs Hyenas
Voiceover: Magizh Thirumeni
Dialogues: R Ajay Gnanamuthu

Lions vs Hyenas could not be termed as a number or a background score. The crux of the entire film from the antagonist’s point of view has been narrated in this voice over and director Magizh Thirumeni has nailed it with his bold voice. There are some rock-based guitars beats to complement this voiceover and it could be an important part of the film. It is an attempt like the voiceover in Theemai Dhan Vellum from Thani Oruvan with lesser music and more words.

Rudra’s Symphony

An out and out instrumental piece that could speak of the glory of the antagonist. There is a small pathos portion. Easily the stand out of the album in terms of intensity and it carries the mood of the film throughout. An outstanding composition with a touch of violin. The Tamil Killmonger theme of 2018 without a doubt.

Edhuvaraiyo
Vocals: Sean Roldan and Gautham Menon
Lyrics: Vivek and Gautham Menon

Edhuvaraiyo was the first single that was released by the team a couple of months ago. The song turned all eyes on Kolamaavu Kokila after this track's announcement. It has become a routine for Anirudh to come out with interesting tracks ever since his debut in the industry, and Edhuvaraiyo is no less. It is safe to call this song an enchanting melody and his collaboration with Sean Roldan never disappoints. Keba Jeremiah's support with the guitars adds immense value to the song and it complements the trap beats that run throughout the song. Sean Roldan's unique voice structure has often been spoken about, and he is a big positive to this song. Gautham Menon joins the bandwagon with his words and deep voice, giving the song a motivational push.

Kalyana Vayasu
Vocals: Anirudh Ravichander
Lyrics: Sivakarthikeyan

Musically, the trippy beat, along with Anirudh's wacky rendition grabs all the attention in Kalyana Vayasu. Lyrically, Sivakarthikeyan is a show-stealer. The lyrics are simple, candid and it fits the given situation like a bolt on the nut! Kalyana Vayasu took the internet by storm for its youthfulness and there's no doubt why it wouldn't do so. A simple yet addictive composition over the beat is what makes this track a winner.

Orey Oru
Vocals: Anirudh Ravichander and Jonita Gandhi
Lyrics: Vignesh ShivN

The quintessential Anirudh melody is what Orey Oru is. Like most of his melodies, this song has the capability to resonate in your head after a couple of listens. Once again, Keba Jeremiah's expertise comes in handy, as the song is based out of the guitar strumming. It takes an immaculate turn into the melodica, which is pleasing to the ear. Needless to say, Anirudh and Jonita's endearing rendition is what gives the track a complete feel!

Kabiskabaa Coco - The Gibberish song
Vocals: Arunraja Kamaraj

How often do we hear songs with gibberish lyrics? Kabiskabaa Coco is an immediate addiction for those who like fleet-footed songs. The beat picks up instantaneously and then there's no stopping this song. Arunraja Kamaraj is known for his voice which never fails to give a gripping feel to any track. Ultimately, this seems to be the song that will accompany a chasing sequence. Khaarem Kamlakhar's flute is extremely appealing, especially in its pace! The synths used are interesting and they sound exciting.

Thittam Poda Theriyala
Vocals: Anirudh Ravichander
Lyrics: Vignesh ShivN

As much as it is dominated by the synth, the song doesn't sound very synthetic. A natural and grounded feel is brought into the song with the superb use of the sitar. The guitars are attractive and accompany the synths functionally. Vignesh ShivN gives his trademark touch to the lyrics, while Anirudh renders them in his usual prepossessing style. The hook could seem compelling to most listeners as Anirudh strikes the right chord!

Gun-In Kadhal
Vocals: Vijay Yesudas and Arunraja Kamaraj
Lyrics: Vignesh ShivN

Anirudh has always made use of his opportunities to show off his prowess in techno arrangements. This is a typical Anirudh-esque trippy EDM track! At first impression, Vijay Yesudas excites us and makes sure that he is a superb choice for this song! Kabiskabaa Coco has been infused with this track to channel the intensity of the situation at hand. Gun-In Kadhal has all the capabilities to become the pick of the album for many!
Verdict: Kolamaavu Kokila (CoCo) is full of youthful exuberance, and will guarantee a trippy experience!

Bar Song
Vocals: Rahul Nambiar
Lyricist: Ku Karthik

The title of the song is self-explanatory of how it is going to sound! A typical bar song, with a foot-tapping beat and a hook that you can hum along with right after the first listen. Rahul Nambiar has done a fair job, and he is pretty expressive throughout the song. Though one may feel that this sounds like a superficial rendition, it might work with the visuals and the mood that has been set behind the songs. The lyrics are very contemporary and simple, giving us something to quickly remember. The guitars power the song to the finish line and play an important role in maintaining the rhythm.

Aariyane
Vocals: Swetha Mohan
Lyricist: Kabilan Vairamuthu

What are the reasons for beginning this song with the word - Aariyane? Kabilan Vairamuthu gives a deeper sense to it, rather than just banking on the fact that it is the hero's name. Kabilan presents this romantic melody beautifully. Musically, this is a techno-classical fusion track, which would certainly be the pick of the album for many listeners. An interesting dub-step beat neatly collaborates with the quintessential classical tones to give a commendable output. A special shout out to the composer Balamurali for coming up with the swaram-veenai mash up in the song. Swetha Mohan lives up to the standards she has set in her previous songs and renders this one wonderfully.

Karu Karu Vizhigalil
Vocals: Sanjith Hegde and Aishwarya Ravichandran
Lyricist: Balamurali Balu

Karu Karu Vizhigalil sounds like that typical song that plays in the background when the hero comes across the heroine on the road, for the first time. Sanjith's voice is unique and it works in favor of the track. Though it sounds like something we might have heard earlier in the same context, it is just a one minute-long track which actually picks up in an interesting manner.  As a song, it might have worked better if it was presented as a full-fledged track.

Hola Hola
Vocals: Benny Dayal, Christopher Stanley, MM Manasi
Lyricist: Madhan Karky

Hola Hola is another fast-paced track in this album in which Balamurali Balu plays to the gallery! Benny Dayal, Christopher Stanley and MM Manasi unite to give the song a complete party-like feel. Once again, Madhan Karky's quirky lyrics hit the high note and when complemented by the catchy tune, you might find yourself humming it. Completely synthesized, this track will definitely sound better with some exciting steps performed by Arya and Sayyeshaa!

Adhiroobaney
Vocals: M.M. Manasi

Adhiroobaney, sung by M.M. Manasi is something different from the trademark DSP melody. Manasi’s voice is a big plus for this number. This track was released first and is already popular among youngsters. Keba Jeremiah’s guitars and Punya Srinivas’ Veena keep us hooked to the track along with the simple lyrics. This number might certainly be the pick of the album for many.

Molagapodiye
Vocals: Sanjith Hegde, Rita

Molagapodiye is a folk track. The rhythm has all the elements that a typical DSP song would have. About Sanjith Hegde’s singing, his voice has the punch required for this folk number and he seems to have total control by absorbing the emotions. This song is expected to work even better with the visuals. Also released earlier, this track has its share of fans.

Pudhu Metro Rail
Vocals: Vikram, Keerthy Suresh

Pudhu Metro Rail is the track that was most expected from this album, as it is sung by the lead pair - Vikram and Keerthy Suresh. Instead of making the lead actors sing for the sake of it, a lot of effort has gone in order make maximum utility out of their voices. The lyrics are quirky and interesting, and we need to wait to know if it manages to reach the masses!

Darnakka
Vocals: Anthony Daasan, Benny Dayal
Darnakka is the type of Kuththu number you can expect in a Hari movie. The song is racy and the lyrics are catchy. Anthony Daasan’s experience in singing such numbers definitely works in favor of the song. The beat drop clicks initially but doesn’t work throughout and it becomes repetitive towards the end. But it is a number that will make the fans go crazy in theatres.

Amma Amma
Vocals: Karthik

A commercial film is sure to have the folk number, the massy song, the romantic track and an emotional one. Amma Amma is the emotional quotient of Saamy Square. Sticking to the sentimental core of the film, DSP has composed a touching melody, which might touch your emo bone with the visuals. Karthik's rendition is flawless and the string orchestration helps in increasing the intensity of the track.
Verdict: DSP has delivered an album that will appeal to the masses. The songs are expected to work better with the visuals!

High on Love
Vocals: Sid Sriram
Lyrics: Niranjan Bharathi

This was the first single from the Pyaar Prema Kadhal album and it is needless to say that it has become a rocking hit among the younger generation. A song that starts off with an enchanting string section neatly guides itself into the techno genre with Sid Sriram fitting the bill perfectly. The orchestration is on point, and this song works out to be the pick of the album.

Dope Track
Vocals: Yuvan Shankar Raja
Lyrics: Mohanrajan

It is a common notion that if Yuvan chooses to croon a song, it will most often be an interestingly intense track. Dope Track is no less. He begins with a disarming recital of the lyric, after which he brings the string interlude before the rendition. An enticing melody takes center-stage as it slowly transforms itself into an EDM hook as the build-up excites you. Yuvan's expertise in arrangements come in handy when he keeps the string orchestra alive in the background while the dub-step is active on the fore.

Hold Me Now
Vocals: Sanjith Hegde and Thurga
Lyrics: Vivek

In the recent past, we've come to know of Sanjith Hegde's seductively appealing voice texture that effortlessly helps songs like Hold Me Now, which require that extra push to get the audience to tap their feet. Hold Me Now is completely dominated by the techno aspects of music. Just before you start wondering if the lyrics are not falling in the meter of the tune, Yuvan's quirkiness of playing with the tune comes into play. The hook of this song might excite more for a section of the audience as it works in favor of the tune!

Never Let Me Go
Vocals: Suranjan and Shweta Pandit
Lyrics: Oviya Ommaapathy

A song that might stand out in the album in terms of musicality would be Never Let Me Go. Unlike the rest of the album, Yuvan does not go deep into the EDM genre with this track. He stays at the brim of the melody, infusing an interesting classical angle to this tune. Suranjan and Shweta Pandit do their jobs well. The motive of the track might hit the listener with the visuals.

I Will Never Let You Go
Singer: Shweta Pandit
Lyrics: Oviya Ommaapathy

Essentially, this is a purely female version of Never Let Me Go. The same track with vocals restricted to Shweta Pandit alone. However, she doesn't disappoint.

Surprise Me
Vocals: Yuvan Shankar Raja and Priya Mali
Lyrics: Madhan Karky

Like most of the other songs in this album, Surprise me is another mix of instrumentation and techno programming. Though intriguing, Yuvan doesn't surprise us much with this track, as it might fall in the trademark Yuvan melody cadre. His style of rendering this track complements the previous statement, while Priya Mali sounds promising. A shout out to Yuvan for including the flute solo!

Hello
Vocals: Devan Ekambaram

Hello is yet another interesting track from the album, though it sounds like a part of the background score. Devan Ekambaram, along with the male chorus rock the harmonies on this one. The sounding is top-notch.

Lets be Friends?
Vocals: Cliffy Carlton
Lyrics: Elan

Off to a blues-ish start, this song takes an exciting turn into the rock genre. Cliffy Carlton's vocals are just fine, Elan's lyrics are contemporary and Yuvan's tune is catchy. Together they provide something worthy of multiple listens. The guitar riffs stand out!

Secret Window
Vocals: Al-Rufian
Lyrics: Elan

Secret Window sounds like that song that plays after the hero realizes he's in love. At least, that what the lyrics suggest! Al-Rufian brings his husky tone to the forefront, while Yuvan deals with minimal instrumentation. Probably, that is what the mood requires. He keeps it subtle with only the guitar, backing chords and cymbals sounding alive.

Wake Me Up Everyday
Vocals: Teejay Arunachalam
Lyrics: Elan

Wake Me Up Everyday begins with a beguiling flute tune and slides into the bass and beats. The tune works well, as the rest of the instrumentation is repetitive. A section of the listeners may feel that Teejay's presentation of the song could have been better as the voice tones towards the end of the song might sound unappealing.

Miss You Papa
Vocals: Yuvan Shankar Raja and Priya Mali
Lyrics: Elan

This song is a symphonic sad version of High on Love. The mood seems to suggest that the high has turned into a bad trip for the hero. Yuvan brings a sorrowful rendition to accompany the strings that sound great.

It's Over
Vocals: Shweta Pandit
Lyrics: Elan

A 1-minute-song to convey the emotion of a break-up. Shweta Pandit's voice is mellifluous and works well in sorrow too.

Verdict: The romantic musical falls in place for Yuvan as he hits the high note effortlessly
